Donovan Lowe
ABOUT
One element which makes music so powerful is its capacity to take us somewhere magical. Through his own compositions, R&B artist Donovan Lowe expresses his experiences of finding love, heartbreak, and strength with the goal to become an icon for the people that feel unheard and unseen in life.
His musical background goes back to the earliest years of his life. Being a member of choirs and ensembles paved the way to him writing music in his teenage years. The struggles he went through at this time became the driving force for his lyrics, and arguably the catalyst for his success so far. He was an attendee of Musicians Institute, where he initially picked up his performance and production techniques. He later graduated from Los Medanos College with a degree in Music.
Donovan's debut EP, 'Loving U in Secret' (2021) “occupies a mid-tempo groove, singing about romantic relationships, often with an edge of danger” and echoes similarities to 6lack, Frank Ocean and The Weekend. Spawning five fan favorites (Colors, When We Kiss, The Fall, Feel the Same and Passion). The project garnered attention in Northern California and Las Vegas, Nevada, leading the singer to headline his first festival (Lodi Pride Fest ’22). Expanding his reach across the states, he later teamed up with Philadelphia rapper, LeemyHendrix, for a string of songs including a remix to one of their popular songs, 'Waiting' (2023), penned by Lowe, himself. The singer also graced the stage for a featured guest performance at Vinnie’s Bar & Grill (2023).
On April, 12, 2024, Donovan released his latest single ‘Firewood’. It includes two new songs and serves as the first of a 4-part release.
